On 10 May 2018, the UN General Assembly adopted resolution 72/277 entitled “Towards a Global Pact for the Environment”. This resolution established an ad hoc open‑ended working group to consider a technical and evidence-based gap report, which was presented to 73rd session of UN General Assembly. The working group will hold 3 substantive sessions in Nairobi before presenting recommendations for further action to UN General Assembly. The second meeting is organized back to back with the 4th session of UNEA – from March 18-20.

The center’s team is presenting the report that was launched on March, 1st in New York. The report builds on a workshop organized in New York on November 29-30 in the Permanent Mission of Finland to the United Nations. The Nordic Council of Ministers supported the entire study.
