Joyce Msuya of Tanzania named Assistant Secretary-General, Deputy Executive Director at UN Environme

In May 2018, Ms. Msuya of Tanzania was appointed Deputy Executive Director of the United Nations Environment Programme in Nairobi, Kenya. This position was previously held by Ibrahim Thiaw of Mauritania to whom UN Secretary-General António Guterres expressed gratitude for his dedicated service and leadership. Joyce Msuya has over 20 years of experience in the field of international development and held numerous prestigious positions at the World Bank Group.
