Global Environmental Governance Project Director Elected to Represent North American Civil Society at Ministerial Meeting in Bali

GEG Project Director, Maria Ivanova, was elected for the second consecutive year as North American civil    society representative to the Governing Council of the United Nations Environment Programme. The 11th Special Session of the UNEP Governing Council/Global Ministerial Environment Forum will take place on 24-26 February 2010, in Bali, Indonesia. It will be preceded by the Global Major Groups and Stakeholders Forum (GMGSF) from 21-22 February 2010 where representatives from around the world will gather to discuss their contributions and input into the ministerial discussions. In 2009, Dr. Ivanova served as North American civil society representative to the Governing Council, as a presenter at the High-Level Gender Forum convened by the Women Ministers and Leaders for the Environment Network, and as a facilitator of a ministerial roundtable on International Environmental Governance.
